Why should I use Whitetail Solution’s deer repellant?

You can take back your yard again! The following websites mention several options about dealing with deer damage. However, a lot of these options are not feasible. In a lot of towns, fences are not allowed by city ordinances. DIY deer sprays can be messy or stinky. Culling is somewhat effective in minimizing damage however in many cities culling is limited or not permitted. Noise deterrents are not realistic for an urban environment. This limits your options. We offer a worry-free repellant service and will take care of your landscape for you!

Are their deer resistant plants?

Yes, absolutely! There are several plants that the deer do not generally eat however it is fair to say that a hungry deer may resort to anything. Our technicians will take this into account while examining your landscape in your quote. Some examples of deer resistant plants according to the Ohio State University Extension include: Black-Eyed Susan, Daffodils, Ferns, Iris, Lambs Ear, Lily of the Valley, Poppy, Violet, Marigold, Petunia, Snapdragon, Zinnia, Honeysuckle, Morning Glory, Boston Ivy, English Ivy, Ash trees, Birch trees, Holly, Juniper, Lilac, Oak, and most herbs. Through our experience working with deer in Northeast, Ohio deer actually do eat a few of these plants such as Black-Eyed Susans, some Ferns, and English Ivy (generally eaten in middle the of winter).

Also deer will eat buds off the following plants Rhododendron, Day Lilies, Ornamental Lilies, and Oak Leaf Hydrangeas which will prevent them from blooming.

When is it safe to water my landscape?

Our technicians will leave a door hanger with the time they applied the spray on your landscape. Generally, the spray is rainfast 30-45 mins after we spray depending on the humidity. However, we recommend waiting a couple hours after application to water your landscape. Excessive watering of your landscape can neutralize the product, so consult with a technician about your watering schedule!

Will the deer repellant keep the deer out of my yard?

The deer repellant protects your plants from being eaten. We cannot guarantee the deer will not visit your yard. However, once the deer learn that there is nothing tasty for them to eat in your landscape they are less likely to want to invade your yard.

Does the spray have an odor?

Yes, some people notice a garlic odor from the summer spray. However, this smell does disperse and most people do not find the odor to be offensive.

What happens if I have damage?

Occasionally customers may experience minimal damage especially when new to the program because the deer are still trying the plants and learning that they are no longer edible. Baby deer are common culprits of minimal damage until they get with the program. If you experience any damage that is more than minimal nibbling please call us and we can troubleshoot! We are here for your customized service and we guarantee satisfaction!
